There is a park at the Pemex North of town with full hookups. Info is in Church's book. Great overnight stop the last time we stayed. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

RE: Celestino

Better area is South of Mazatlan, IMHO! We have stayed in Celestino and it was not our cup of tea. Still don't understand what everyone sees it the area. Good stop over of a night or two but not long term stay. Again In My Humble Opinion! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Maxxis, MORE!

This is a continuation of my post where I had one of my Maxxis fail via separation last week. We are on the road with the Toyhauler and have had TWO more Maxxis separate within 500 miles of the first one. Beware of the center of the tread. The second Maxxis started bulging in the center of the tread halfway around the circumference of the tire like the first tire. The third one did the same thing but ALL the way around the circumference of the tire. Caught them before they blew so no damage to the trailer, just the pocketbook. So far we have had no help from Maxxis. We called the 800 number and while they were nice, no help. They said they deal with the dealer. I will be bring the tires back to AZ to my dealer and we will see what happens. My expectations are very low, but we can always hope. Just watch the center of the tread. Instead of remaining flat, the center starts to bulge/round. This is the sign the tire is separating. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

RE: Safety in Numbers!

Magic Pilot, a little too early. We are off in the AM for a RV trip to California first to see the childrens. Rick, Posted a reply on your topic before I saw this post. Yes, probably the Emerald Coast. We will be staying at Trailer Park De Alba for a week making a lot of sidetrips to the surrounding areas. We will then be at Hotel Tepetapan in Catemaco for another week. Good chance we will run into you. We are the huge Toyhauler without Decals with AZ plates. Good luck to you both, rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

RE: Paamul and East coast

We will be traveling halfway there but leaving Nov.29th. We will cross near Las Cruces, travel down the interior 400 miles and turn East to the Gulf Coast. Just take Hwy 25 to Las Cruces and meet us. We will be at the Emerald Coast for a week so either way we may see you. We will be the huge Toyhauler without decals with AZ plates. Good luck! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

RE: Baja caravan December 4-January 27

I read the route plan and you pass thu but do not stay at the places I mentioned. Bottom line is it looks like a great trip. Have fun, we will be RVing Baja next winter '09. It has been 9 years since we last enjoyed Baja. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

RE: Baja caravan December 4-January 27

Looks like a great deal for the first-timer. The downside is you will past & not spend anytime at some really great places on the way down. If you feel comfortable after you get down and spent time in the South, come back a slower pace stopping at more places on your return, example La Paz, Mulege & San Ignacio. There are also many beautiful beaches & bays along the way. Come back on your own or with someone you find in the South instead of the Caravan. Just a suggestion! Good luck and have fun! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

RE: Hermosillo to Obregon

qtla9111, is this the place on the left side of the road as you are coming into town and just before the overpass. If it is, I had an excellent lunch there a few years back but later became as ill as I ever have from food in Mexico. I ate the salad with my lunch and my better 3/4s did not. I was the only one that became ill. Tough trip back to the States as it was the last day of the trip. Things balanced themselves out a couple years later when she ate her salad in Cosala and I did not. She was down you a couple days and it was the first leg of the trip South. Glad to hear you had a good time. I was wondering if you were going to make it to Kino and meet that scary guy who lives there in the winter. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

RE: How Much Bleach??

I liked the suggestion someone else made. Go to the local Purification Plant/Business and fill the tank with a hose. Since we have a 125 gal tank, our on-board supply last a very long time. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

I hope you didn't get in trouble, I didn't think you did. You didn't do anything wrong or the Mod would have closed the topic. You only ask for info and WE GAVE it! Passport-America!!! rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

RE: Violence in Mexico spills into the USA

I googled and I am now cancelling my Not Kooool comment. How in the heck am I suppose to know something about a Hobo and a song written in 1928? I just barely understand Swing music. Nothing existed before Rock n Roll and the 50s/60s. LOL! I listened to "Big Rock Candy Mountain" on YouTube and I CAN see where you could make some comparisons. rocmoc n AZ/Mexico
